Brownie was brought over to the UK in January 2023 and has been waiting for her forever home for 3 years now.

Brownie’s Story:

Brownie came to Homeward Hound after we saved her from a Romanian ‘kill shelter’; known for badly mistreating dogs and using horrible methods. A high majority of the staff at these places are men, which is why we find that most Romanian dogs are fearful of men. We believe Brownie was caught using a catch pole and originally had a fear of leads due to this.

About Brownie:

Brownie is very loving and affectionate; she loves a cuddle and a belly rub, once she knows you, and can often show her cheeky side when it comes to food. When it comes to strangers, Brownie can be a little stand off-ish, however she can easily be won round with treats and a ‘let her come to you’ approach. Anyone who has been following Brownie’s story, will know that she is now going on walks and is enjoying her daily adventures around the local lake and trails.

The Home Brownie Needs:

We are looking for an understanding home with a secure garden, that hopefully has experience with a nervous dog, however this is not a necessity. Brownie definitely feels more at ease around woman so we are preferably looking for a female only home. Brownie has never been around children, we don’t know for certain how she will act, but we do think she would we best suited to an adult only home too. Brownie absolutely loves other dogs (please watch the videos on our Facebook page) and they would probably even help with her confidence in a new home environment. We are unable to cat test at our facility, so we do not know how she will be with a cat.

If you believe that you can offer Brownie the home she needs and would like to be considered for adopting her, please press the ‘Adopt Me’ button below to fill out our pre-adoption form.
